Organized by the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Greek Fest typically fills Wisconsin State Fair Park with gyros and other spit-roasted meats, Greek music and dancers, games and rides, a Greek marketplace, and much more. In 2020 and 2021, COVID-19 concerns caused organizers to transition the 55th and 56th annual events into a “Greek Fest Drive Thru” instead of full-fledged festivals in order to allow folks to get Greek Fest food favorites and support Annunciation.

As we await the status of Greek Fest in 2022, we’re pleased to let you know you’ll be able to indulge in some of the festival’s dining delicacies this month at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church’s “Taste Of Greece” event. According to organizers, Taste Of Greece is a “smaller, more intimate version of Greek Fest” that primarily focuses on food. From 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, February 26 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 27 (while supplies last!), the church’s Cultural Center building located at 9400 W. Congress St. will serve up Greek Fest favorites like spit roasted chicken, roasted lamb, gyros, Greek soup, Greek meatballs, Saganaki, Greek salad, Pistachio (Greek lasagna), and a variety of Greek pastries.

In addition to the food offerings, there will be a Greek market, Greek musicians and dancers will perform at 3 p.m. both days, and attendees can take self-guided tours of the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed church. Admission and parking are both free. Why wait until summertime to partake in Greek Fest when you can enjoy a Taste Of Greece February 26-27?
