It’s almost the 20th day of April and you know what that means, riiiiiiiight?! Yeah, you know! Love it, hate it, or feel absolutely indifferent to it, this unofficial holiday is reason for a sizable portion of the population to celebrate. Even though Wisconsin will absolutely be the last state in the Midwest to legalize recreational marijuana thanks to the do-nothing State Legislature ghouls withholding progress in spite of its undeniable economic, societal, and health benefits, that isn’t stopping a few Milwaukee-area businesses, bands, and creatives from enjoying this April 20 (and beyond). Here’s our semi-informative guide to 4/20 events and specials that are happening in the area this week.

High Score: A 4/20 Market @ X-Ray Arcade
Milwaukee Record is proud to present the inaugural High Score. This “4/20 Market” will feature a wide variety of local and regional vendors who offer botanical, plant-infused products with “added ingredients” that are 100 percent legal to purchase and consume in Wisconsin. The 21+ event is a great opportunity to both sample and stock up on (we repeat: totally legal) items while also learning more about a rapidly growing industry from those in the know. Tickets—which include samples of various products—cost $12 in advance and $18 at the door. All advance ticket purchases also include a free gift courtesy of Milwaukee Record and Kind Oasis.

1840 Earth Daze @ 1840 Brewing Company
Bay View’s 1840 Brewing Company will host a three-day “Earth Daze” event. In between the Clothing Swap (April 19) and a Trash Pick Up (April 21), the brewery will host an Earth Daze street party on April 20 that will feature food from Cocina Filipina, vendors (including Happy Place Hemp), music by Stone Theory and Shell Bells Band, and two beer releases (one of which is a Joint IPA collaboration with Eagle Park) out on Ward Street.

4.20 In The Good Land @ Great Lakes Distillery
Great Lakes Distillery is partnering with Good Land Extracts and Fox Den on a “4.20 In The Good Land” event at the Walker’s Point distillery. Great Lakes will be serving up a special curated cocktail menu. Meanwhile, Fox Den will be preparing infused food in its on-site kitchen all day long. From 12-5 p.m., Goodland Extracts will be sampling out some of its CBD and Delta 9 goods in addition to offering some prize drawings throughout the afternoon.

Breakfast With Ignite Dispensary @ CopyWrite Magazine
On April 20, Ignite Dispensary will be “sparking the convo on cannabis” at CopyWrite Magazine headquarters during its Breakfast With Ignite event. Beyond the breakfast element, the ticketed affair will offer live music entertainment, art, cannabis education opportunities, conversation about legalization with folks in the know, and networking opportunities.

• Happy Hour and 4/20 drink specials
• Raffle prizes galore

• Fun games like Oregano Rolling and Ranch Chugging with awesome prizes
• Special appearance from Delta 8 experts and local shop owners at Knuckleheads CBD & Vape shop
• Opportunity to win Cheba Hut for A YEAR
• Good vibes and good times!

The fun will be happening at Cheba Hut locations on the East Side (2907 N. Oakland Ave.) and in Bay View (2202 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.) starting at 10 a.m. this Saturday.

Head Space High Notes @ Third Space Brewing
Third Space will be debuting its 10 mg version if its Head Space THC seltzer (and serving Head Space on-premises for the first time ever) during Saturday’s Head Space High Notes festival. From 2-7 p.m., there will be live music on the patio provided by KASE, as Oak, and Another One (a Grateful Dead tribute band). There will be food available for purchase from Ian’s Pizza and EZ Tiki. Kind Oasis will have a pop-up shop with some new product releases. And, of course, Third Space will have its award-winning beer available on draft.

ICW MKE 420 Classic 2024
It’s a two-night wrestling brawl at Da Bar in West Allis, which starts on April 20. See your favorite ICW talents in what’s sure to be a hiiiiiiigh-flying show in ‘Stallis.

Joint Beer Fest @ Eagle Park Brewing (Muskego)
Eagle Park’s annual Joint Beer Fest will be a full-fledged beef festival. The aptly-named April 20 event that not-so-subtly references 4/20 activities and lifestyle will bring munchies, holiday-appropriate music, and collaboration beers with 12 other breweries to Eagle Park’s sprawling Muskego taproom. There are three ticket levels for this 21+ indoor event.

No Skips: Kush & OJ @ Canni Infusion Bar & Cafe

You just want to read a shortened version of the event description for this one? Okay!

“NO SKIPS—a listening party dedicated to celebrating and experiencing our favorite albums—will debut on 4/20 celebrating Wiz Khalifa’s Kush & OJ mixtape (followed by a special Blog Era classics set spun by DJ GEMINI GILLY). NO SKIPS: Kush & OJ is in collaboration with Canni Hemp Co. Canni Hemp Co. will be providing education, so everyone can consume responsibly. Attendees will be able to purchase and consume treats from Sweetly Baked MKE, participate in raffles, and enjoy some free samples. Got the munchies? We got you. Twisted Plants will be on-site for attendees to purchase food.”

The No Skips: Kush & OJ event runs from 7-11 p.m. and tickets are required. They’re going fast, so act now!

Sweetly Baked MKE’s Grand Opening Weekend @ Sweetly Baked MKE
Since starting as a home baking hobby in 2021, Sweetly Baked MKE quickly expanded into catering, opened a mobile shop, and became a festival fixture that specialized in desserts that are infused with CBD and Delta 8 (as well as non-infusion treats for those who don’t wish to partake). On April 19, Sweetly Baked will open its brand new Third Ward cafe. They’ll celebrate the grand opening that day and on April 20 with an assortment of $4.20 items, a “complimentary infused mocktail toast at precisely 4:20 p.m.,” and more.
