It’s been eight long months since beloved Milwaukee comedy club The Laughing Tap hosted its final shows in Walker’s Point. It’s been four long months since The Laughing Tap revealed its new home to be the Historic George Watts building in downtown Milwaukee, 761 N. Jefferson St. And it’s been four long minutes since The Laughing Tap announced its grand re-opening in its new 100+ capacity home.
Yes, The Laughing Tap will celebrate its grand-reopening on Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28. The weekend will feature shows from headliner Nate Craig. Craig’s credits include Netflix film Old Dads, Netflix series Maniac and F Is For Family, TruTV’s World’s Dumbest, and much more.
As for the new Laughing Tap, expect a larger space and a new bar, the latter embracing “the 100 year history of the George Watts building, utilizing existing woodwork for the bar area and box office,” a press release explains.
“The former George Watts building is the perfect spot for The Laughing Tap—it allows us to elevate the live comedy experience with a bigger space, in a great neighborhood with amazing restaurants and other amenities” says Matt Kemple, co-owner of The Laughing Tap, in the press release.
As always, the 18+ and no-drink-minimum Laughing Tap will feature weekly live comedy shows, special events, and live album recordings. It will also feature a weekly amateur open mic night and expanded bar hours. Upcoming shows will be announced at laughingtap.com and on social media.
Finally! It’s been too long! Welcome back, Laughing Tap!
