“With the invention of a new television that broadcasts scent, an ordinary man is pulled into a daunting new cooking show.”

As far as loglines go, that one’s a winner. It’s for Aroma-Vision, an entirely Milwaukee-made sci-fi/horror short film produced by Liminal Vision Films. A Black Mirror-esque nightmare that “delves into the dangers of technology and how easily humans can be persuaded”? Scenes shot at Leon’s Frozen Custard that may or may not involve Leon’s famous “Spanish hamburgers”? Sign us up!

The Aroma-Vision trailer recently debuted at the Milwaukee International Short Film Fest, and is now on YouTube:

Aroma-Vision stars Max Williamson and Anna Castelaz. It’s directed by Shun Powell and written and co-produced by Adam Smith. Smith (who has contributed to Milwaukee Record in the past) tells us the final edit of the film is nearly complete, and that a festival run is planned for 2026.

“We think it’s important, now more than ever, to keep projects and teams like this together and IN Wisconsin,” Smith says. “With film incentives unlocking soon, we want to showcase ourselves as viable artists in the scene, because we have a lot of confidence in what we’re capable of.”
