We here at Milwaukee Record are certified and unapologetic “Cat Guys.” In addition to each of our staffers being in the company of cats for the majority of our adult lives, we also do our part to help find homes for adoptable felines with our weekly “Milwaukee Record Cat Of The Week” article. So when the opportunity to get involved with an adoption and fundraising event that will help cats and raise money for our friends Urban Cat Coalition, we signed on!
That event is the third “Alley Cats” fundraiser, which will have a season-specific “MEOWLOWEEN” installment at Falcon Bowl on Sunday, September 27. From 12-4 p.m., the Riverwest bowling alley/venue will be the cat’s pajamas, as it hosts a multi-faceted event for a great cause. There will be adoptable cats on hand for a “meet and greet” session in the “Falcon’s Nest” green room from 12-2 p.m. In Falcon Hall itself, attendees of all ages can play cat-themed games and browse feline-focused goodies from vendors, including Peach Beast, then stop by Urban Cat Coalition’s donation station to help get items from the organization’s wish list.
Speaking of donations, $1 from every Meowloween cocktail purchased at the Falcon Bowl bar that afternoon will be donated to Urban Cat Coalition, as will half the proceeds from $20 bowling games purchased during the event. Last but certainly not least, The Hissy Kits—Milwaukee’s premier theremin-incorporating “Feline Expressionism” jazz project—will perform beginning 2:30 p.m. There’s a suggest $5-$10 donation and costumes are “strongly encouraged.” Join us at Falcon Bowl for Alley Cats III: MEOWLOWEEN on Sunday, September 27.
