Summer is the best. Join Milwaukee Record and Wheel & Sprocket August 3-10 as we search the city and beyond for the Spirit Of Summer.
Following a Mother’s Day get-together with my family, I found myself with an empty home and a Brewers game on my mind. Itching to experience the latter solo, I walked due south to American Family Field and scored a free standing-room-only ticket from my ballhawk buddy. I decided to pay attention in a new way throughout the game, taking photos and shooting video whenever the mood struck. In the meantime, the Brewers walked off the hated Yankees in a 10-inning thriller.
Instead of boring you with some “baseball is poetic and powerful because I say so” nonsense, dig my 4:20 video of the May 9 experience at AmFam, followed by Tricky Henderson‘s ridiculous recap of the game set to Nirvana’s “On A Plain.”
Though baseball may no longer be America’s game (in its 250th inning, our country’s game is one far more confusing), I highly recommend attending a Brewers game—alone or with people you enjoy. What happens on the diamond need not be the center of your experience. Our Milwaukee Brewers are in a golden age of winning baseball, and you may want to be able to say you saw Jackson Chourio in his age 23-season, or The Miz when he hit 106 mph. Take yourself to the ballgame.
I’m At The Game
A brief summary of the Milwaukee Brewers extra-inning 4-3 comeback victory over the New York Yankees, on May 9 2026, set to Nirvana’s “On A Plain.” Lyrics by Tricky Henderson.
Goldschmidt leads off
With a solo home run
Probability to win
Goes down 10 percent
I love my Crew
Better than you
Jake Bauer’s ding-dong
We’re still losing it’s true
The finest game
That I’ve attended
Was when I learned
The Yankees were damned
I love my Crew
Better than you
I know it’s wrong
So what should I do?
I’m at the Game
Don’t mess with Turang
I’m at the Game
Uecker died
After Wild Card night
It had some sting
Quote me on that
I love my Crew
Better than you
Wild Bill saves the day
And ties it at two
Pat Murphy got
Best manager again
Arnold got
Another award
I love my Crew
Better than you
I know it’s wrong
So what should I do?
I’m at the Game
Sal’s shirt’s filled with stains
I’m at the Game
Someday the Brewers will settle the score
In a dream we win the Series in four
In the clubhouse champagne is sprayed
What the hell am I trying to say?
It is now time
To root for the Crew
To beat the Yanks
Who spend without sense
I love the Crew
Better than you
Contreras hits ’em home
We win three to two
And one more special
Message to go
The Yankees just lost
Now I can go home
I love the Crew
Better than you
Know it’s wrong
But what should I do
I’m at the Game
We play through the rain
I’m at the Game
Uribe’s insane
I’m at the Game
Ashby wins 20 games
I’m at the Game
I can’t complain
I’m at the Game
