Italian food truck and catering service Nadi Plates is gearing up to finally open an East Side home.
Last week, Nadi Plates owners filed license applications with the city to open a brick-and-mortar restaurant and accompanying coffee shop (called Il Grande Bambino) at the former Pomona Cider Co. space at 2163 N. Farwell Ave. Proposed opening date? Pending Common Council approval, October 1, 2026.
The applications come several months after it was revealed that Nadi Plates would not be taking over the vacant Crossroads Collective space on the East Side, as had been announced in April 2025.
“Nadi Plates is still moving forward with plans to open a restaurant on the East Side! It just won’t be where we originally thought it would be,” the restaurant said in June 2026.

The applications for 2163 N. Farwell Ave. include supplemental licenses for sidewalk dining, instrumental musicians, bands, comedy acts, disc jockeys, karaoke, and poetry readings. Proposed hours of operation are 6 a.m. – 11:59 p.m. seven days a week.
