More than a year after Italian food truck and catering service Nadi Plates announced it would open a restaurant in the former Crossroads Collective space at 2238 N. Farwell Ave. on Milwaukee’s East Side, the company announced on social media Thursday that it’s officially backing out.
Nadi Plates will not take over 2238 N. Farwell Ave., but will instead take over 2163 N. Farwell Ave.—a.k.a. the former Pomona Cider Co.
“Nadi Plates is still moving forward with plans to open a restaurant on the East Side! It just won’t be where we originally thought it would be,” the restaurant said. “Starting soon, we’ll begin moving our entire operation down the street to 2163 N. Farwell, the former home of Pomona Cider Co.”
Later, it added: “We’ve also mutually agreed to part ways with the owners of 2238 N. Farwell on that project.”
Here’s the full announcement:
We know there’s been a lot of curiosity and confusion about what is happening with our restaurant, and we owe you all an update.
The good news: Nadi Plates is still moving forward with plans to open a restaurant on the East Side! It just won’t be where we originally thought it would be.
Starting soon, we’ll begin moving our entire operation down the street to 2163 N. Farwell, the former home of Pomona Cider Co.
We are cooking up exciting plans to transform the space into the new Nadi Plates, and we can’t wait to share them with you as details are finalized. Same street, same Nadi, just a new door.
We’ve also mutually agreed to part ways with the owners of 2238 N. Farwell on that project.
What matters most to us is that we get to keep calling the East Side home. We love this community, and we’re thrilled to keep growing our business right here in our own backyard.
We can’t wait to open our doors to our neighbors and welcome you. all to our table. Until then, catch us at every Brewers home game at Am Fam Field and seven days a week at Zócalo Park during the World Cup.
Earlier this week, the owners of the former Crossroads Collective space, New Land Enterprises, filed license applications to open an “astrology-themed” cocktail lounge in a small section of the building.

Crossroads Collective opened on the corner of North and Farwell in late 2018. Longtime Milwaukeeans will remember the space as the former home of Oriental Drugs pharmacy.
Pomona Cider Co. closed in December 2025.
