Earlier this month, Center Street Daze offered a day of fun in the heart of Riverwest, effectively putting the cherry atop a bustling summer events list in the neighborhood that also featured Locust Street Festival and Riverwest 24. But the outdoor festival fun is now officially over in Riverwest until next year, right? Wrong!
Enter Dousman Palooza, a block party (formerly known as “Dousman Street”) that was put together by Riverwest residents Ben Kendl and Gwen Barker last summer with just five weeks of notice. Now in its second year, the grassroots undertaking with a new name and far more planning will bring the always winning mix of live music, food vendors, local retailers, and cold drinks back to—you guessed it!—Dousman Street on Saturday, August 29.
From 12-8 p.m., the tucked away Riverwest corridor will feature beverages that can be purchased from the three participating Dousman Street bars (The Gig, Gee Willickers Tavern, and The Squirrel Cage). Beyond the participating bars, attendees can expect offerings from a trio of food trucks. As you eat, drink, and browse local goods, you can also enjoy performances from an eclectic range of seven area musical acts. Here’s the full lineup and schedule.
