While many of Milwaukee’s summer festivals, block parties, and other large scale happenings have already come and gone, one of the city’s best fests is still on the horizon. Bay View Bash will return to Kinnickinnic Avenue on Saturday, September 21 and will fill the eponymous neighborhood with 11 hours worth of live entertainment, family fun, retail vendors, food, and drinks (including a new Bash Beer).
Since there’s a lot of stuff that will be happening on the long stretch of street between Clement Ave. and Potter Ave., we figured it might be a good idea to organize information about entertainers, beverages, food vendors, retailers, and some other aspects of this massive, FREE, and community-focused Bay View block party into one handy guide. The Cult Of Nasty will be also be walking around the entire festival and performing mobile concerts over the course of the day. Be on the lookout for them on the Bay View Bash grounds!
Other Entertainment
The fun will actually start before the Bash technically begins. Starting at 10 a.m., folks are encouraged to bring their dogs with them to take part in the Bay View Bash Dog Walk. The parade—organized by Mac’s Pet Depot—will start off at Immaculate Conception Church, so meet there shortly before 10 if you and your furry friend wish to be involved.
Bay View Community Center is also booking and sponsoring a Family Area, which will offer entertainment for all ages in the Immaculate Conception Church parking lot throughout the day. For the first time ever, there will also be a Bash-affiliated rummage sale. Here’s more info:
“Bay View United Methodist Church (intersection of KK, Clement and Pryor) holds its first-ever All-Church Rummage Sale 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. to ensure fervent rummagers as well as Bash celebrants find treasures. Funds support programs such as free community meal every Sunday afternoon, 24/7 free little food pantry, AA, Loving Start Preschool, music programs and grief support group. There are children’s toys, college-dorm refrigerators, chests, microwave, roll-top desk, lamps, tables, miscellaneous electronics and computers, holiday decorations, kitchen stuff, ironing boards, wood file cabinets, oil lamps, antiques, collectibles, and more items arriving.”
So get to the Bash early if you want to score some great bargains and help some even greater organizations in the process.
Drinks
Like last year’s installment, all the beer stands will serve an eclectic array of local and domestic beer, craft seltzers, canned water, soda, and THC-derived beverages. This year marks the debut of Bash Beer, a Bay View Bash-exclusive “Hoppy Lager” made special for the Bash by Third Space Brewing. Proceeds from Bash Beer sales will benefit non-profits in the 53207 zip code. All beverages will be served in cans for the sake of environmental sustainability. Here’s the full drink list!
