It’s been a minute since legendary musician/poet/author/icon Patti Smith graced Milwaukee with her legendary presence. (Like, since 2017?) That’ll change on Wednesday, September 23, when Smith will come to Milwaukee’s Riverside Theater for “an evening of songs and stories.” The appearance is in support of Smith’s latest memoir, Bread Of Angels.
Tickets are $35 plus tax and fees, and are on sale NOW. Each ticket includes a paperback copy of Bread Of Angels. “There will not be a book signing, meet-and-greet, or audience Q&A at this event,” notes Boswell Book Company, which is presenting the event along with The Pabst Theater Group.
“In this moving account of her life,” reads the description of Bread Of Angels, “Smith recalls her post-war childhood, the first glimmers of teenage art and romance, true love and devotion, profound loss, and a life driven by artistic freedom and the power of the imagination to transform the commonplace into the magical, pain into hope.”
