Roughly one month after it was first announced, the 100-foot-tall Bob Uecker mural in Downtown Milwaukee is officially complete. Behold:
Artist Mauricio Ramirez put the finishing touches on the “Mr. Baseball” masterpiece Friday afternoon. This fact was confirmed by several sources, including the forever-awesome Sandy Maxx, whom we’re pretty sure camped out underneath the thing for the past month.

The mural is located on the north facade of the Wintrust Financial Center, 731 N. Jackson St. But since it actually faces Mason Street, let’s say 506 E. Mason St. (That’s the address of the Subway across the street.) A public signing ceremony will take place later this month.
“It’s a huge honor to create a mural celebrating Bob Uecker,” Ramirez said in May. “What he means to Milwaukee and to sports broadcasting is incredibly important. I hope this mural reflects the pride and lasting impact he gave to so many people.”
Other Downtown murals from Ramirez include the Giannis Antetokounmpo mural at 600 E. Wisconsin Ave., and the “Heart and Sol” mural on the Community Advocates building at 728 N. James Lovell St.

…and on June 8:

And here, once again, is the mural today, June 12. (Yeah, we pretty much camped out underneath the thing, too.) It’s incredible. FANTASTIC WORK, MAURICIO! LOVE YA AND MISS YA, UECK!
