Every Wednesday at noon, Ryan Schleicher, Evan Rytlewski, and Matt Wild take to the WMSE airwaves to discuss all things Milwaukee. This half-hour fun-fest is called The Disclaimer, so named because none of the oft-ridiculous views expressed on the show necessarily reflect the views of the hosts’ employers. Milwaukee music, Milwaukee art, Milwaukee events, and D.I.Y. lawn care tips are frequently discussed—and rarely agreed upon. The Disclaimer: Talk radio for the sane.
For the past 8,000 episodes, The Disclaimer has opened with “Spooky Times” by Milwaukee band Soul Low. “Spooky Times” is a great song, and Soul Low is a great band…well, make that “was” a great band, because the venerable indie rock outfit has called it quits. Ryan, Evan, and Matt pay tribute to Soul Low, and use the occasion to talk about other endings (and some beginnings). The progressive-minded Wisconsin Gazette has published its final paper, which sucks. The immortal Bob Uecker is getting another chance to call some postseason games, which rules. Bay View is getting a ton of new development, which is nice. The Hop is officially starting on November 2, which is either cool or the end of Milwaukee as we know it, depending on your view of the thing.
