The last four years have been bumpy ones for beloved East Side club The Estate (2423 N. Murray Ave). There were openings and closings, kinda-sorta name changes (it was The Jazz Estate but it’s just The Estate now, we think), a period where it got rid of live music, a period where it brought back live music, and a period where it brought back live music for special events only. Phew.
And now it’s time for a new chapter! As teased on Instagram and reported by OnMilwaukee, The Estate will soon reopen on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. February 13, a.k.a. the opening night of a two-weekend stint from Cameron Webb’s Valentine’s Day Soul Revue, will be The Estate’s first night back in business.
“Did you miss us because we definitely missed you!” reads another Instagram post. “Starting February 13, we will be back Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Will be providing a wonderful lineup of music and some wonderful cocktails to help make nights to remember. If things go well, we will be adding more nights (and more cocktails)!”
A peek at The Estate’s website reveals a number of shows booked through May. Local artists include Andrew Murray Trim and Jamie Breiwick (February 27) and Steve Peplin and Amanda Huff (March 7-8).
“Head over to our website to check out our schedule and snag your tickets,” says The Estate. “Remember (soapbox alert), the only way clubs survive is if they are supported, so remember to support live music at The Estate and at the other wonderful venues in Milwaukee.”
