The day has finally arrived! Following years of speculation and months of construction, Milwaukee County officially has a Taco John’s. You’ll never need to drive to Waukesha again.

Metro Milwaukee’s first location (of many the Wyoming-based “West-Mex” fast food chain intends to open in the region) quietly opened for business Friday morning at 2172 Miller Park Way in the ballpark-adjacent suburb of West Milwaukee. Of course, we went there the moment we heard the news to both confirm the rumors and, yes, to have a meal.

The service was great. The Potato Olés ruled. Our soft shell taco and Meat & Potato Burrito were both on point. While it’s a little smaller than the Waukesha TJ’s, it’s still a clean and cozy place to grab a meal. Or you can pick up orders from the drive-thru. Funny side note: it’s directly across the street from a Taco Bell. Scandalous!

Okay, we’ll stop rambling. We’ll just sum things up by letting you know the West Milwaukee Taco John’s location is officially open for business (6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday), it’s awesome, and we took a bunch of pictures for you. Here they are!
