Taco John’s is great. Since the “West-Mex” fast food chain opened its first restaurant in Cheyenne, Wyoming more than 50 years ago, Taco John’s has gone on to open more than 400 locations in 27 states, including a large contingent of establishments scattered throughout the Midwest. With notable offerings like the Six-Pack And A Pound, the Taco Bravo, and its signature Potato Olés, it’s tough to take issue with the chain.

The only major complaint we have with Taco John’s at the moment is its complete lack of locations in Milwaukee. Thankfully, it appears that’s going to change. Yesterday, Milwaukee Business Journal reported Taco John’s is planning to add 10 to 12 locations in the Milwaukee area between now and 2025. The chain currently has 32 locations in Wisconsin, with a Waukesha location being the closest to Milwaukee city limits. The article indicates some “opening opportunities” in and around Milwaukee could begin in the next six to nine months.

So if you’re looking to pick up some Olés without going to goddamn Waukesha, it sounds like you’ll be in luck soon. As you wait for Taco John’s to get to Milwaukee, read our 2017 article entitled “We ate Taco John’s with Har Mar Superstar” here.
