Missing the sights, sounds, and smells of the Wisconsin State Fair? Well, even though the 2020 fair wasn’t scheduled to begin until August (it was canceled because of COVID-19, don’t you know), you can get a deep-fried, stick-laden taste of it beginning this week.

From Thursday, July 23 through Sunday, July 26, week one of the four-week Fair Food Drive-Thru will give fair food fans the chance to purchase select fair food items from select fair food vendors—all from the comfort of their own vehicles. Just pull into State Fair Park at Gate 9 (S. 76th St. & W. Pierce St.), enjoy the sure-to-be-lengthy one-way line, and get routed past a bunch of booths. Fun! Yes, you have to stay in your car; no, you don’t have to wear a mask; no, you can’t hang out and eat your food at the park; and no, bathrooms won’t be available. At least admission is free!

Here’s the four-week lineup, complete with times and vendor information. (Click on the week for the full menus, when they become available.)
