Though Crafty Cow has been making specialty burgers and tasty fried poultry preparations for the entirety of its near-decade-long existence, the restaurant—which has locations in Milwaukee, Oconomowoc, and Wauwatosa—keeps things interesting by occasionally updating its menu with new entrees, starters, add-ons, and weekly specials.
About six months removed from a spring menu refresh that featured the addition of a few new items and some burger upgrades, Crafty Cow is changing things up again. This time around, the restaurant is adding new food selections, but is also undergoing a rebranding process. This is illustrated through a decidedly more psychedelic theme employed on menu art, a brand new “Veg Head” specialty veggie burger, a “Burger Royale” (pictured below) that includes Wagyu beef and pork belly, and implementing small-yet-intriguing touches like changing its fish to pollock, adding a cornbread bun to its chicken sandwiches, and the introduction of a “Fluffhead” Marshmallow Fluff add-on.
“The new menu is really about our identity. Before, it felt like I was trying to separate a lot of work from who I really am and trying to just think about what everyone wants of me,” Crafty Cow owner Devin Eichler says. “I have decided it is better to be myself, and this look and feel will be more about sharing that. We still have the same great food, but the attention to the details is where things will be really noticeable.”

“The All You Can Eat fish fry is coming because it is something that I have always wanted to do,” Eicher says. “Growing up, we used to go to them regularly with the family. Our hope is to combine that Wisconsin tradition of the fish fry with my favorite food: fried chicken.”
