It’s a scientific fact that nothing beats October. The weather is awesome, Halloween is lurking around the corner, and businesses go nuts with events and promotions ending with the “tober” suffix. Now that “spooky season” is officially upon us, Avalon Theater and Times Cinema are going especially nuts with “Shocktoberfest,” a film-focused blowout running October 6-29 that features some terrific scary movie classics and even a couple animated Japanese horror selections. Want to see Halloween, The Shining, and The Thing at Avalon Theater? Look no further. How about watching A Nightmare On Elm Street, Alien, and Perfect Blue with some fellow thrill-seekers at The Times? That can be arranged. Hell, they’re even screening Friday The 13th ON FRIDAY THE 13TH!

Check out the full “Shocktoberfest 2023” lineup below. All tickets are $11.
