Depending on which news sources you follow, Milwaukee is going through either a “renaissance” or a “reinvention.” However you want to define it, it’s safe to say that Milwaukee is currently building a lot of new and wonderful things! Here are some of them, brought to you by GTG Home Buyers!
• Back in September 2024, advocacy group Friends of the Domes presented a funding plan to repair and “reimagine” Milwaukee’s long-troubled Mitchell Park Domes. The Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a budget amendment for the plan a few months later; earlier this month, the Milwaukee County Board’s Committee on Parks and Culture gave the plan another green light, voting 6-1 for approval.
The multi-phase, $133 million plan will both repair the Domes and create a new children’s garden, nature learning center, and cafe. It will also expand the existing gift shop. Milwaukee County will be on the hook for $30 million, to be paid out over six years. The remaining funds will come from a combination of private philanthropy and state and federal tax credits.
Friends of the Domes—now known as the Milwaukee Domes Alliance—will be in charge of operations of the Domes via a long-term lease with the County. The County will retain ownership of Mitchell Park itself. Find more on the “Domes Reimagined” plan HERE. [620 WTMJ]

Well, it’s gonna be a Wingstop. [Urban Milwaukee]
