Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich is awesome. The Milwaukee County Transit System is awesome. What happens when you combine these two awesome Milwaukee things a week before Yelich may or may not be named the National League MVP? (He totally will.) MCTS temporarily renaming its Route 22 bus line the “Yelich Line.” Because Yelich wears #22, you see.
The bus rebranding will begin Thursday, November 8, and last through Thursday, November 15, when the MVP winners will be announced at 6 p.m. ET. Yelich is up against Nolan Arenado of the Colorado Rockies, and Javier Báez of the Chicago Cubs.
Also up for NL MVP glory: Brewers manager Craig Counsell. No word yet on whether the 30 (or 30X!) will be renamed in Counsell’s honor. Also, those dudes who made that “Christian Yelich” song must be stoked.

Starting Thursday, Nov 8 and running through Nov 15th when Yelich is named the MVP (don’t @ us, Arenado and Baez), the Route 22 will be called the Yelich Line. pic.twitter.com/YTRLjDffI9

The Route 22, which runs on Center Street between UWM and 60th Street, was picked because 22 is Yelich’s uniform number. pic.twitter.com/wAmTZvlE3C

Buses on the route will show ‘Yelich Line’ on the front display leading up to the MVP announcement. After he is named MVP (seriously, Cubs and Rockies fans, don’t), all 400 buses in the MCTS fleet will display a special message in Yelich’s honor. pic.twitter.com/7CLJdUuHi3
