Last month, in the dead of winter, we gave you two summertime events to look forward to: Locust Street Festival and Center Street Daze. Well, the date of one of those events has changed, so update your calendars accordingly.
Yes, Locust Street Festival of Music and Art, as well as the ever-popular Locust Street Beer Run/Walk that precedes it, is being moved from its previously announced date of Sunday, June 8 to one week earlier, Sunday, June 1. (The date for Center Street Daze—Saturday, August 16—remains the same.)
The reason for the change? The Milwaukee Pride Parade, which is also set for Sunday, June 8, and which steps off at 2 p.m. in Walker’s Point.
“Milwaukee festival season will be starting soon and for many it starts with two iconic events: Locust Street Festival Beer Run and the Pride Parade,” a Locust Street Festival social media message reads. “Unfortunately, they are both on the same day. Until this year. This year the Beer Run will be held on Sunday, June 1 with the Festival to follow as usual. This will allow folks to do the Beer Run, and the Pride Parade the following week.”
Sounds good! Oh, and then there’s this: “You can look forward to an updated and improved festival this year with a children’s area, new stages and events, but with the same Riverwest Neighborhood feeling.” Sounds good, too!
Vendor applications for the 2025 Locust Street Festival—which, again, is now happening on Sunday, June 1—will be available next week.
