Club Garibaldi is joining the ranks of Milwaukee and Milwaukee-area venues requiring proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test for entry. Club Garibaldi’s new policy begins Saturday, August 28.

“Effective Saturday, August 28, we will be requiring proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test no more than 48 hours old to attend any show at Club Gs,” reads a statement. “We strongly encourage masks as well, and we are advising everyone that if upcoming bands request more stringent measures, as a condition of playing, we will enforce them at the band’s request.”

Club G’s website also includes this pertinent bit of advice: “Please everyone, GET VACCINATED! Trust your doctor, NOT Facebook or YouTube for your medical advice!”

The venerable Bay View club, located at 2501 S Superior St., is the latest Milwaukee-area venue to announce a vaccination policy. Yesterday, X-Ray Arcade in Cudahy announced a similar policy that will go into effect September 2. Other venues with vaccination policies already in place—or soon to take effect—include the Pabst Theater Group venues (Pabst Theater, Riverside Theater, Turner Hall Ballroom, The Back Room @ Colectivo), Cactus Club, The Cooperage, Anodyne Walker’s Point Roastery, the Oriental Theatre, and Summerfest.

Here’s the rest of Club Garibaldi’s statement. Go ahead and skip the comments on the Facebook post.

Please watch our Facebook page for frequent updates on unfortunate and unplanned cancellation of shows as continued spread of the Delta variant has made for a constantly changing situation. Bands whose members have refused to be vaccinated have been cancelling their tours as those same band members have unfortunately become infected with the virus. Please everyone be safe, and protect one another. We hope to see you all very soon! Take care, Club G.
