In early 2019, Wauwatosa beverage bastion Ray’s Wine & Spirits and Indiana’s 3 Floyds Brewing joined forces to help metro Milwaukee battle the winter blues with an outdoor celebration of beer done in defiance of cold weather. The upstart event, which took place in the parking lot at Ray’s over the course of one windy mid-winter Sunday, was called “Wückfinter.” The inaugural installment’s success prompted Ray’s to host an even bigger and better Wückfinter in February 2020, mere weeks before the COVID crisis. Last year, the pandemic found Ray’s pivoting into a “A Virtual Wückening” instead of an in-person event.
Today, Ray’s announced Wückfinter will be returning bigger, better, and in-person in 2022. From noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 27, the event—which will be an exclusively outdoor affair—will allow patrons the chance to indulge in tons of 3 Floyds beer (including some rarities TBA) and a one-day-only 3 Floyds boozie slushie. Beyond the beer offerings, Ray’s parking lot and parts of 89th Street and 90th Street will host an impressive cast of food vendors that includes Sanford, Bavette, I.d., and Kelly’s Greens. As always, the guys from Rushmor Records DJs the event.
Stay tuned for a full tap list and more info on Wückfinter 2022 as the event approaches. Until then, save the date and prepare to wage war on cabin fever outside Ray’s. It’s going to be wücking awesome.
