Only a few days have passed since 42 Ale House closed its doors at 3807 S. Packard Ave. in St. Francis. Happily, folks looking for another geek-friendly establishment at that location won’t have to wait long: Over the weekend, “interactive storybook brewery” Faklandia Brewing announced it will soon set up shop at the former 42 Ale House. A Facebook post reads:

ATTENTION CITIZENS!

Plot twist: We have settled in a new location! We will be inhabiting 3807 s Packard Ave in St. Francis, the former 42 Ale House.

Stay tuned for more announcements! See you soon for food, games, and adventures, in Faklandia!

The move will represent the first physical location for Faklandia. Nate Fakler and Ben Mantay launched the brewery in July 2016, and brewed their beer “at home and on other breweries’ systems.” Previous plans to move to 2525 E. Crawford Ave. in St. Francis have obviously changed—thus the “plot twist.”

So what is Faklandia Brewing, exactly? Well, according to its website:

Faklandia is a realm beyond any you have ever known. Vast landscapes of verdant green jungles, arid deserts swirling with sand, and jagged mountain ridges all come together in our liquid landscapes. Characters such as the Lizard Wizard, Princess Salamandra, and the vile Nox Atra come to life in the form of beverages not for the faint of heart. They will become characters you know and love and get to experience through an untouched medium; taste. Along with crafting beers that inspire the mind we will be creating an immense storyline that will be ongoing as Faklandia evolves. Each release will comprise of several beers that build on the current story. Come on down to Faklandia, have a beer, and get lost where imagination and reality meet. We are strangely familiar.

That’s our kind of geeky shit. As of press time, there was no comment from the magic-themed brewery opening in Downtown Milwaukee.
