The second annual Bandsketball has been waging in Riverwest since the beginning of July. Starting with 32 acts, the music scene-wide basketball tournament whittled down to just two teams. On Saturday afternoon, SAFS Crew and Airo Kwil met on the courts at the corner of Fratney and Center. After two close games, SAFS Crew topped Airo Kwil in the third game of best of three championship game by the score of 11-9 to claim the Bandsketball trophy.

The rap collective also won last year’s title. The tournament will culminate with a show featuring both teams at a venue and date that have yet to be determined. The other two final four teams, New Age Narcissism and D’Amato are also invited to play. Though it took longer to complete than the inaugural tourney, the second Bandsketball was by all means a successful and unique way of continuing Milwaukee music’s increased crossover, and is likely to happen again next summer.
