We get a lot of things sent to us here at Milwaukee Record HQ: albums, books, bobbleheads, hate mail, etc. We write about some of the stuff we receive, and we don’t write about some of the stuff we receive. We’re a semi-ethical operation, you see, and our editorial attention cannot be bought with postage alone. However, if you happen to send us some first-of-its-kind, limited-edition, small batch Whiskey Kringle from Racine’s world-renowned O&H Danish Bakery and Scotland’s Highland Park Whisky, we will absolutely write about it. And eat it.

Picture this: It’s Monday, June 7, 2021. You’ve just finished biking six miles to your office in Walker’s Point. You have a company-wide meeting set for noon, and all three of you will be there. You’ll need some food. You order Cousins, of course: one turkey sub with no onions (Josh), one turkey sub with no lettuce (Matt), and one pepperoni melt (Tyler). You include a large order of Cousins cheese curds, because they are GOOD.

But before the food arrives there’s a knock on your door. Uh oh, you think, this is like that one time you ordered a Cousins sub and the guy next door intercepted it, ate it, and then dropped by to tell you that you should “probably order another one.” But no: this is a different guy, a guy you haven’t seen before, and he’s holding a box. With a grin on his face and a twinkle in his eye he holds the box aloft and utters three magical words:

“YOU’VE…GOT…KRINGLE!”

And boy oh boy do you. First-of-its-kind, limited-edition, small batch Whiskey Kringle from Racine’s world-renowned O&H Danish Bakery and Scotland’s Highland Park Whisky, to be exact. You grab some silverware and paper plates. Even though subs and cheese curds are on their way, you dig in. It’s really good.

The Whiskey Kringle features “O&H’s classic tender pastry filled with a Highland Park Whisky infused caramel and topped with buttery streusel,” reads a press release that we somehow blanked on until Whiskey Kringle was delivered to our door like a miracle. “The pastry is then coated with a honey whisky glaze and topped with a smoky drizzle of vanilla icing.” Did we mention it’s really good?

The Whiskey Kringle is available now at O&H’s many locations. It can also be ordered online for delivery. Oh, and you only have until June 20 to get some, because it’s a Father’s Day thing.

Thank you, O&H, for sending us Whiskey Kringle. And thank you, Cousins, for coming through as always. What a day.
