Even though we’ve now knocking on the door of August, there’s still a lot of summer fun left. Adding to large-scale event undertakings like Wisconsin State Fair, Milwaukee Irish Fest, and Bay View Bash is a steady wave of other festivals, block parties, and music series that are scheduled to happen in and around “The City Of Festivals” between now and summer’s end.

The latest to be announced is a street party that will be taking place outside of Milwaukee’s first sensory deprivation flotation tank business. On Friday, August 25, Float Milwaukee will host Float Fest 2023. Starting at 5:30 p.m., a parcel of pavement on the 200 block of Freshwater Way will be closed off to allow for live entertainment, food vendors, and fun.

Your senses won’t be deprived at Float for a change, as the likes of Immortal Girlfriend and Recovered (a local string instrument cover band) will perform. There will be fire-bending, fire-eating, and hoop-dancing by Taylor Flows, as well as aerialism from Mooncat and Ms. Kristen, along with pole dancing from Pole Factory MKE. Float Festers are also encouraged to pick up food from Float’s new neighbor (Ruta’s Cafe), as well as sweet treats from neighboring businesses Purple Door Ice Cream and Indulgence Chocolatiers. Float Fest is free to attend. For more information on the event, go HERE.
