• Please enjoy (?) this short, simple, and depressing reminder: East Side landmark Beans & Barley, 1901 E North Ave., will close its doors for good on January 31, 2026. That’s two weeks and change, folks. Ugh. Get there while you still can.

• Please enjoy (!) this short, simple, and HAPPY reminder: Custard and hamburger joint Dairyland is now open inside Redbar, 2245 E. St. Francis Ave. Dairyland departed 3rd St. Market Hall in June 2025; Redbar found itself sans restaurant when The Saucy Swine departed there in November 2025.
