Remember going somewhere to watch a movie? Man, those were the days. Though a few area businesses have stepped up to help give viewers a taste of the movie-going experience with outdoor screenings in recent months, summer’s days are numbered. However, before the season is through (and a few days after fall begins), one Walker’s Point business will give viewers a chance to sit outside and enjoy “cannabis-themed movies.”

This weekend, Canni Hemp Co. will kick off its movie series with an August 29 socially distant screening of cult comedy classic Grandma’s Boy in the 5th Street business’ new outdoor oasis. The movie starts are 8:30 p.m. and will wrap up around 10:15 p.m. Tickets to this (18+) backyard screening cost $25 and they come with a $10 Canni in-store credit, “a pre roll to enjoy during or after the movie,” and a small popcorn (with the option to season with CBD-infused spices). Guests are asked to bring their own lawn chairs and to observe social distancing practices. Here’s the list of upcoming screenings.

Saturday, August 29 — Grandma’s Boy
Saturday, September 12 — Smiley Face
Saturday, September 26 Pineapple Express
