WMSE‘s local and live in-studio showcase, Local/Live, airs Tuesdays 6-7 p.m. You can find past episodes HERE. Beginning in 2023, we’re also collecting episodes on a handy Soundcloud playlist.

CAL: Good evening everybody. It’s about three minutes after 6 p.m. and you’re tuned into 91.7 FM WMSE, the Big Sound Downtown. We are a listener-supported broadcast service of the Milwaukee School of Engineering. My name is Cal, I am here tonight with Sid, and this is Local/Live. Hi Sid!

SID: Hey Cal! Are you ready to get your face melted off?

CAL: I am. I’m always ready to get my face melted off, but tonight I had to come ready because I can just tell from the soundcheck that this one is going to get loud. This is a black metal band called It Is Dead. This is a band that I discovered last year. They formed as a one-man project back in 2019, and they ballooned up to a three-piece for their debut full-length, Hell Is Now, which came out last year. And now they’ve added another member, they’re up to four members now. They have a release they just put out with Void Me, a split. That’s up on their Bandcamp page, and that came out earlier this month. They’ve got more music coming yet this year. I’m stoked to see how they sound live, because I think most of what I’ve heard recorded is fewer members than what they’ve got out there right now. So it’ll be the full force of the four-piece band.
