Pound for pound, one of the best showcases for local music is WMSE’s weekly Local/Live program. Every Tuesday at 6 p.m., a Milwaukee artist drops by the station’s downtown studio, plays some songs live on the air, and chats with host Cal Roach. The show has been going strong in one form or another since 2005. If you want to keep tabs on the local music scene, listen to Local/Live.

But there’s more! Once a month, Local/Live broadcasts live from Anodyne Coffee in Walker’s Point. These installments not only give the artists a bigger stage, they give the public the chance to enjoy a free show. (Sometimes, WMSE is foolish enough to ask Milwaukee Record’s own Matt Wild to co-host.) If you want to keep tabs on the local music scene, go to Local/Live. (Or stream it live on YouTube!)

Wanna see what you may have missed in 2022? The tech wizards behind the monthly streams, Kneeverland Productions, have put together a 60-minute “best-of” compilation for 2022. Included are performances from Peroxide, Nineteen Thirteen, Telethon, Eric Blowtorch & The Bodyguards, De La Buena, Wanda Chrome & The Leather Pharaohs, Collections Of Colonies Of Bees, Large Print, Holy Pinto, Dead Horses, and Testa Rosa and Mark Waldoch. Enjoy!
