Ever since Okay Omen loudly announced its presence just over two years ago, we’ve tried our best to keep tabs on the local emo outfit that features members of Sugar Stems, Garden Home, Ladybird, and Live Tetherball Tonight in its ranks. We raved about the band’s first EP (last year’s So It Goes…), included “Clerestory”—the lead single off the band’s sophomore EP—on our Spring 2024 playlist, and were impressed by the aggressive direction the group was heading in frenzied second single, “Headlock.”

Today, Okay Omen’s output increased in both size and quality with the official release the band’s Echoes Of Loss EP. Adding to previously released singles “Clerestory” and “Headlock” are two more songs that haven’t been heard until now. Third track, “Denial,” is a moody and meandering. It eventually melds into the EP-ending “Acceptance” that evolves into a formidable front of powerful percussion, angular guitar, muddy distorted bass, and emphatic shouts by vocalist Chase Hoffman. Now fully formed, Echoes Of Loss showcases Okay Omen’s evolution and sees the band finding its footing to confidently take strides in an exciting artistic direction.

Okay Omen will celebrate the vinyl release of Echoes Of Loss at Cactus Club on Friday, November 22 during co-release show with Snag. Overhand and Jagalchi will also play in support. You can listen to the new EP in its entirety below or wherever you stream music.
