Milwaukee is chock full of things to do, but only a handful of Milwaukee events are worthy of the lofty honor of “Record Recommended” (patent pending). Here are our recommendations for June 8-14, 2026, brought to you by Wynk.

MONDAY, JUNE 8

Willi Carlisle + Living Room @ Cactus Club
“Willi Carlisle is a poet and a folk singer for the people, but his extraordinary gift for turning a phrase isn’t about high falutin’ pontificatin’; it’s about looking out for one another and connecting through our shared human condition. Born and raised on the Midwestern plains, Carlisle is a product of the punk to folk music pipeline that’s long fueled frustrated young men looking to resist. After falling for the rich ballads and tunes of the Ozarks, where he now lives, he began examining the full spectrum of American musical history. This insatiable stylistic diversity is obvious in his wildly raucous live performances, where songs range from sardonic trucker-ballads like ‘Vanlife’ to the heartbreaking queer waltz ‘Life On The Fence,’ to an existential talkin’ blues about a panic attack in Walmart’s aisle five.”

Paisley Fields + Lily Slay & The Vertebrae, Sludge Hawking @ MKeUltra

Public Opinion + Squint, Frantic Repair, Teenage Ice Age @ Anodyne Walker’s Point Roastery

TUESDAY, JUNE 9

Chill On The Hill: Bright Eyed & Blind + Louie & The Flashbombs @ Humboldt Park
For more than two decades, Bay View Neighborhood Association’s Chill On The Hill music series has brought music to Humboldt Park’s band chalet every Tuesday between the beginning of June and the end of August. And Chill’s 21st season begins this week! Food trucks will open at 5 p.m., and the music begins at 6:30 p.m. Be there! And be there next week, too! (And the week after that, and the week after that, etc.)

Poetry In The Park @ Juneau Park

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 10

Tape And Tears + Quiver The Busker, Blasfemme @ Falcon Nest
“Tape And Tears a folk-pop-punk band based out of Northern Wisconsin, blending hauntingly honest lyricism with dirty and delicate vocalizations. Created by singer-songwriter Gilliana Hope with support from Quiver the Busker, the duo embraces DIY in every aspect of the project. Their canvas for catharsis blends guitar, banjo, ukulele, cajon, and eclectic harmonizations. In the vein of artists Stick and Poke, Local News Legend and Toh Kay, Tape And Tears is ready to inject a soft and gritty energy into the folk-punk scene.”

Heart(beats) Of The City: The Zach Pietrini Band @ Red Arrow Park

THURSDAY, JUNE 11

DeVotchKa + Known Moons @ Turner Hall
In honor of the 20th anniversary of Little Miss Sunshine, Denver indie folkers DeVotchKa—who scored the Oscar-nominated film—come to Turner Hall to play songs you surely recognize from the celebrated movie. Milwaukee’s own (and fantastic) Known Moons are set to play in support.

Jazz In The Park: B.D. Greer Presents Divas & Jazz @ Cathedral Square Park
The Great Milwaukee Summer is back! And with it, the long-running and wildly popular Jazz In The Park! Like years past, Jazz In The Park will set up shop in downtown’s Cathedral Square Park on Thursday nights from 6-9 p.m. Unlike previous years, the series will be expanding its musical offerings beyond the jazz genre, and (new this year specifically) will be preceded with a Cathedral Square Market, which runs from 3-6 p.m.

George Wallace @ Milwaukee Improv (through June 13)
George Wallace is one of the best to ever do it. The iconic comic, actor, the singer of the fictional Milwaukee Peaches, and one of the only few bright spots left on Twitter will treat the Milwaukee Improv in nearby Brookfield to four performances over the course of three June nights. It’s going to be great and whatnot.

FRIDAY, JUNE 12

Lakefront Festival of Art @ Milwaukee Art Museum (through June 14)
Milwaukee Art Museum’s Lakefront Festival of Art has always been one of the city’s classier summer festivals. Still, per Milwaukee summer festival regulations, there will be plenty of beer, wine, and food to go along with works from more than 145 jury-selected artists and an impressive lineup of great Milwaukee music. Field Report, Brett Newski, Valley Fox, and The Belle Weather highlight that three-day impressive lineup.

Polish Fest @ Henry Maier Festival Park (through June 14)
Accurately calling itself “America’s Largest Polish Festival,” Polish Fest returns to its longtime home of Henry Maier Festival Park for another three-day edition, Friday, June 12 through Sunday, June 14. As always, there will be plenty of arts and crafts, food, cooking demonstrations, traditional Polish dancing, and vodka. Oh, and you know there will be music, too.

HartFest @ Hart Park, Wauwatosa (also June 13)
Celebrating its 30th year in 2026, Wauwatosa’s HartFest promises “BBQ and Music.” What more needs to be said? The BBQ will be provided by a bevy of local food trucks, while the music will be provided by Brewtown Beat and The LoveMonkeys on Friday; and the 5 Card Studs, JD Rankin & The Solomon Royals, and The Gufs on Saturday.

God’s Outlaw @ Nashville North
Brian “Big Smith” Smith and Eric “E-man” Bulgrin formed God’s Outlaw more than 20 years ago, and the group has been a staple of Milwaukee and Wisconsin festivals and corner bars ever since. The new Tales Of The Hard Way is an impeccably produced 10-track backroads journey that genuflects at the altar of Cash and Jennings, while sneaking in a swig of “weird Americana” a la The Handsome Family. Highlights include the “drivin’ down the highway” rambler “Roll These Dice” and the hilarious shit-kicker “Nothingsville.”
