Yesterday, during the New Age Narcissism set at Locust Street Festival 2015, Bo Triplex kicked things off with a preview of a new solo track called “Thump-Tastic.” As expected from the NAN/Kane Place Record Club/Bo Triplex And His Beautiful Band bassist, the song was funky, fun, and, well, thump-tastic. Now, Triplex has released the song on Soundcloud, giving everyone a chance to soak in the glory of the Prince-esque funk, the dance-hall synth, and the lovely guest vocals of Andrea Olson. “A musical memory reminiscent of groovier times,” Triplex says in the song’s description, which sounds just right. Oh, and don’t forget those “Oooh”s and “Ahhh”s, perfect for batting away the impending summer heat.
