When we spoke to Amanda Huff last month, the motivated and multi-faceted Milwaukee musician talked about recent output with You Win !!! and her dual Troublemakers EP with Vincent Van Great, and she also hinted at some new collaborations on the horizon soon. One of those projects Huff supplied vocals to is an intriguing new indie hip-hop duo that recently released its impressive debut EP.

That duo is RealityTV, a group consisting of turntablist/producer GetMoses and lyricist/vocalist Slang Troubadour. The pair initially met at The Uptowner a few years ago, where GetMoses was DJing an open mic night. After a few sessions, the chemistry was evident and GetMoses and Slang Troubadour set out to write and record material together. The self-produced and self-recorded product of their efforts is Channel Surfing, a five-track EP that showcases the young project’s production prowess and penchant for positive and fun material.

Channel Surfing kicks off with “Tobey Maguire,” which previously could be heard in an ambitious and enjoyable music video RealityTV released via Higher Education Records back in September. Huff’s contribution can be heard on the silky smooth standout “Winter Jazz,” and Mic Crawf and Sleepy pitch in on infectious EP ender “Congratulations.” Clocking in around 17 minutes, Channel Surfing quickly makes an excellent impression and has us excited to hear more from this upstart rap duo soon. You can stream the EP almost anywhere you get music, and you can see RealityTV perform at Cactus Club on Wednesday, December 8.
