Last month the Museum of Wisconsin Art launched an amazing exhibition about the history of comics in Wisconsin, with emphasis on the career of cartoonist and publisher Denis Kitchen, from his beginnings in the Milwaukee underground scene to his internationally known company Kitchen Sink Press. Author Tea Krulos wrote all about it for Milwaukee Record.

Lion’s Tooth recently went to the MOWA and interviewed co-curator J. Tyler Friedman, who offered a great tour of the show in West Bend. This video should give you an idea of how awesome the exhibition is, but don’t miss an opportunity to see it in person if you can. Wisconsin Funnies: Fifty Years Of Comics is on view through November 22 at the Museum of Wisconsin Art in West Bend and at the MOWA DTN space in the Saint Kate Arts Hotel in Milwaukee.
