Fans of gourmet hot dogs and butter burgers rejoice: A new restaurant called Louie’s Char Dogs & Butter Burgers is coming to 2336 N. Farwell Ave. The location—formerly occupied by Bee’s Cuisine—is part of that East Side strip mall where Blockbuster used to be. Remember Blockbuster? There’s still one left!

On a job posting on Craigslist, Louie’s Char Dogs describes itself as “fast casual” and a “fun & friendly concept,” complete with “great opportunities for expressing your creativity.” Along with the aforementioned hot dogs and butter burgers, chili dogs, fries, steak sandwiches, cod, catfish, shrimp, and more are promised.

Hours listed on the door are Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. – 12 a.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.

We bumped into the owner while snapping a few pictures at 8 in the morning, and he tells us Louie’s plans to open in the next two weeks. Fun!

Also coming to that East Side strip mall where Blockbuster used to be: an Asian street food restaurant called Milwokee. This one is located in the space that was last occupied by China Wok, and was occupied by a Wendy’s Dairy Queen once upon a time. Believe it or not!

“Milwokee Asian Street Food focuses on bringing the traditional night market feel to your table,” reads the Milwokee website. “We offer a range of different Asian cuisines along with gluten free options and a vegan-friendly menu, there is something for everyone on our menu!” Find the entire menu HERE.
