Looking for a roundup of Milwaukee food and drink news? Then take a bite of our cleverly titled, bi-weekly Food/Drink Roundup! This week: digital food halls!

• You know the former Blackwood Brothers Restaurant & Social Club space at 3001 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. in Bay View? You know, the space next to Blackbird and kitty-korner from The Wiggle Room? Yeah, that one. Well, Blackwood closed in February. Now, after a few reinventions for the space proved short-lived, a “digital food hall” called Crave Kitchens plans to set up shop in the corner restaurant.

“Unlike traditional food halls, which separate distinct restaurants into individual vendor stalls,” explains Urban Milwaukee, “digital food halls operate multiple concepts from a single kitchen. At its upcoming Milwaukee location, Crave Kitchens plans to feature The Twisted Cactus, serving Mexican cuisine; The Pit Stop, a Southern barbecue restaurant; and a healthy bowls concept, which is not yet named.”

Urban Milwaukee continues:

While digital food halls are typically designed for convenience, with an emphasis on carryout and delivery services, Crave Kitchens plans to take a different approach in Milwaukee. The new location will offer diners the option to enjoy a pre-dinner drink at the bar or eat on-site at the restaurant; takeout and catering will also be available.
