Save the date for our ‘ElimiDATE’ rewatch event at The Laughing Tap Tyler Maas March 24, 2025 Last month, we took readers on a trip back to early 2000s Milwaukee when we unearthed some episodes of ElimiDATE—a trashy reality dating show that ran from 2001 to 2006—that were shot in the city and featured a pool of locally-sourced contestants/suitors. We thoroughly enjoyed looking back at the nightlife, the fashion, the poorly-aged trash talk, the varying thickness of Wisconsin accents, and the alcohol/testosterone-fueled competition that took place in these salacious and downright crazy ElimiDATE episodes. Based on the number of page views, comments, and nostalgic emails we received after the article was posted, we weren’t the only ones who liked the cringe-inducing trip down memory lane. With that in mind, we figured it might be fun to get together and watch some Milwaukee-shot ElimiDATE episodes together. Join Milwaukee Record at The Laughing Tap on Thursday, April 17 for the first “ElimiDATED in MKE” rewatch event. Starting at 7 p.m. (6 p.m. doors), we’ll screen three Milwaukee episodes of the series (including one that wasn’t featured in the article). Along the way, we’ll take some time to discuss some of the local references, provide updates on shooting locations and contestants, and recap some of the best (and worst) moments we witness. Who knows, there might even be a surprise or two in store. Oh, and there will be specials on all Lakefront Brewery taps during the event. Admission to “ElimiDATED in MKE” costs $10.
