In 2018, Company Brewing got in the civic celebration spirit by releasing Milwaukee Day Lager, a beer crafted in collaboration with founders of Milwaukee Day. Though availability was essentially limited to the days surrounding the local holiday, the 4.14 percent ABV (get it?) helles lager sold incredibly well, tasted amazing, and helped add to Milwaukee Day’s ever-growing lore. The following year, Company made the beer available in tallboys cans, then followed that up by redesigning the can for 2020’s release.
With a proven formula, the Riverwest brewery has decided to make the seasonal beer that’s affiliated with a local holiday into a year-round offering with a new can design and an updated name. Beginning Friday, March 5 at 10 a.m., “Milwaukee-Style Lager” (or just “Lager”) will be available at Company Brewing.
In the coming weeks, the “straightforward, refreshing” beer made to honor the city’s rich history of brewing iconic lagers will also be available at liquor stores, grocers, and other beer retailers throughout the greater Milwaukee area.
Milwaukee-Style Lager will be sold in 4-packs of 16-ounce cans. The name and the look have both changed, but the lager remains the official beer of Milwaukee Day. Only now you can celebrate the city all year long.
