Fans of cheesy movies and long-canceled TNT shows were beside themselves this past July when horror streaming service Shudder released a 13-movie marathon dubbed The Last Drive-In With Joe Bob Briggs. The series featured beloved comedian and bad-movie connoisseur Joe Bob Briggs hosting and riffing on a slew of cinematic turkeys, just like he had in his old Joe Bob’s Drive-In Theater and MonsterVision days. The Last Drive-In was so popular it crashed Shudder’s servers, and the service soon announced Briggs would return for Thanksgiving and Christmas specials, as well as another series in 2019.

Speaking of 2019, that’s when Briggs is scheduled to make a rare Milwaukee appearance. Yesterday, organizers of the annual Twisted Dreams Film Festival revealed that Briggs is expected to bring his one man show, “How Rednecks Saved Hollywood,” to TDFF 2019. The fest will run April 5-7 at the Times Cinema; no specific date for Briggs’ show has been announced.

Hell yeah. Here’s the full press release:

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin– The Milwaukee Twisted Dreams Film Festival is excited to announce that Joe Bob Briggs will be bringing his one man show “How Rednecks Saved Hollywood” to the 2019 festival. Joe Bob is famous for hosting Joe Bob’s Drive-In Theater on TMC and MonsterVision on TNT. “How Rednecks Saved Hollywood” has been selling out shows around the country. During the 2 hour show Joe Bob uses over 200 clips and stills to review the history of rednecks in America as told through the classics of both grindhouse and mainstream movies.
