Owning and operating a small business can be very difficult, stressful, and thankless work. The hours can be long, a paycheck isn’t always guaranteed, and the worries tend to pile up. With our “Business To Business” series, we’re offering business owners in and around Milwaukee a platform to acknowledge other local establishments and business owners they appreciate. This week: Silver City Studios co-owner Josh Evert kicks the series off by expressing his love of Wy’east Pizza. Here’s what he has to say…

Wy’east Pizza is the best pizza in town. Silver City Studios is lucky enough to be right across the street from them on West Vliet Street.

It’s so convenient to have a solid local restaurant nearby for our clients. Anyone who likes a chewy-yet-crispy thin crust pizza made with fermented dough and topped with well-curated combinations of specialty products will be impressed by what Wy’east offers. Might I suggest the Hot Marmot, which is topped with pepperoni, fresh garlic, and Mama Lil’s sweet hot peppers? Or, if you’ve got more of a Mike Pence palate, even the Trailhead—tomato sauce, cheese blend, and herbs—tastes gourmet.

As if offering excellent pizza weren’t enough, they’re also good citizens of our Earthen Sphere. They put their pizzas on wax paper before placing them in their cardboard parkas. This keeps the box from getting greasy, which renders the cardboard no longer recyclable. Every pizza place should do this. They also take Covid protocols super seriously, which I think we can all appreciate at this point.

Our engineers and artists often find ourselves bummed that they’re not open on Mondays and Tuesdays. We do, however, fully respect this decision. I like a business that recognizes that the customer is not always right and is, in fact, often wrong. This could be reflected in their “no substitutions or additions” policy toward their specialty pies. Or, maybe it’s just better for business operation. Either way, long live Wy’east Pizza.
