We have so many great artist-run businesses in the Milwaukee area, and I want to send a 5/5 Star review to one of them: KBattle Photography. Katrice, a.k.a. KBattle Photography, is most known for weddings, baby photos, graduations, boudoir shots, headshots, etc. In her own words, it is photography for “every body, every color, every gender, every love, all the time.”
As an acupuncturist, I think about how milestones can signal to our body that we are on the right track in life. They can bring us so much joy! There are also times when our interior life and real world challenges can make these milestones feel like terrible reminders of our vulnerability. I see that in patient health, too. So I am in love with Katrice’s dedication to helping people show their embodied beauty the way they wish to. Feeling beautiful while also feeling seen for all the struggles we have inside is a really powerful thing.
I have hired KBattle Photography for family photos, and just completed a head shot session. Before the pandemic, I attended a sensory-friendly photo shoot and workshop she created aimed at helping people feel more comfortable in front of a camera. After all, we want gorgeous images for our milestones, to pump up our confidence and claim our place! All the while, inside, we are feeling the tragic comedy of our humanity right at the surface right as we hear the camera’s shutter clicking. Katrice’s skills will hug all that human disaster stress and turn it into some hot-shit photos. And if you aren’t full of human angst like I am, she will turn out equally hot-shit photos for your awesomely-stable self, too.
