It’s a particularly ugly and isolated time in history. As Wisconsin’s COVID-19 numbers continue to rise, it’s become apparent that it will be an incredibly long time before we can experience art and in-person performance in any meaningful or “normal” way again. Wanting to celebrate local landmarks that aren’t open right now and “fill empty spaces with life, hope, and dance,” Milwaukee Ballet decided to launch a new video series that features some of its dancers showcasing their talent at area institutions.

Last week, the company’s “We Miss You MKE” video series launched, with a short-but-moving video of dancers doing their thing at the Summerfest Ground (Henry Maier Festival Park). In the days since that first vignette came out, Milwaukee Ballet has put out similar videos of dancers performing at the Central Library and The Oriental Theatre. The five-part series will culminate with installments that showcase performers at Miller Park and Milwaukee Ballet’s home stage at the Marcus Performing Arts Center

You can watch the first three “acts” of the We Miss You MKE series below. And if you can spare any money at this time, you can find some ways to support Milwaukee Ballet here. Enjoy!
