The city of Brookfield, the county of Waukesha, and the entire state of Wisconsin lost an important historical site this summer when the old Hooters restaurant at 17105 W. Bluemound Rd. was demolished. Opened in 2008, the location has been razed to make way for Café Zupas, a SFW soup and sandwich chain based out of Utah. As they say, all Hooters must pass.

But now, thanks to the magic of Facebook Marketplace, you can own a piece of Hooters hisory. You can own the front door of Hooters of Brookfield!

“One front entrance door for Hooters of Brookfield,” reads the listing. “It’s two pictures of the same door from different angles. 36″ x 83-1/2″ no frame.”

The New Berlin-based seller tells us he came into possession of the Hooters door while working for a company that was doing demolition work on the site. Plus, he says, his wife used to work at the Brookfield Hooters.

The seller is asking $250 for the Hooters door. That’s roughly seven orders of the Original Family Pack (20 boneless wings, fries or tots) and two copies of the 2024 Hooters calendar (with $100 worth of coupons). Not bad!

As we all know, it’s been tough times for Hooters. The longtime restaurant chain abruptly closed 40 “underperforming” locations this summer, citing the rising costs of food and rent. The closures included locations in Florida, Kentucky, Texas, Rhode Island, and Virginia.

Only one Hooters remains in Wisconsin: in Madison, at 2639 E. Springs Dr. Its front door remains in use.

Also: Remember when there was a Hooters on the corner of Wisconsin and Plankinton, where that Potbelly is now? And remember when Bob Watt announced his mayoral candidacy from that Hooters? Huh!
