Here’s a quick primer on the restaurant space at 2060 N. Humboldt Blvd.: In December 2022, after 12 years in business, Stubby’s Gastrogrub & Beer Bar closed its doors at the location. In April 2023, Pizza Man moved in, a month after leaving its 10-year home on Downer Avenue. Then, in April 2024, after only one year in the Humboldt space, Pizza Man packed up shop, and now appears to be headed back to Downer. Phew.

So what’s happening at the now-empty Humboldt restaurant space? A sign spotted outside the building on Tuesday afternoon—and some construction work happening inside—reveals it may soon be the home of Cozumel Mexican restaurant. See for yourself!

And that’s…all we know. There are Cozumel locations in Oak Creek, Janesville, and Whitewater. Is this planned Humboldt location part of this empire? We reached out to Cozumel and will let you know if/when we hear back. A phone number on an already-existing Google listing for the Humboldt location, meanwhile, is currently not in service.
