Add another one to the growing list of local event postponements. Today, Milwaukee Comedy announced its annual Milwaukee Comedy Festival—which was scheduled to take place August 5-9—will be postponing its 15th installment of Wisconsin’s largest multi-day comedy event until this fall. The fest will now be taking place October 7-11, with The Laughing Tap serving as the event’s primary location.

“This is not a decision that came without a great deal of thought and discussion,” Milwaukee Comedy Festival founder and co-prouder Matt Kemple says in a press release. “It is important that we do all we can to ensure the safety of the performers and our audience members, but we look forward to seeing everyone in October!”

In addition to announcing the new dates that will celebrate “141⁄2 years of laughs,” Milwaukee Comedy Festival organizers have lowered the submission fee for comedians to $14.50. Interested comics can apply now. As a result of the date change, Milwaukee Record‘s annual Roast Of Milwaukee (which has served as an unofficial Milwaukee Comedy Festival kickoff show) will also be moving to October.

Stay tuned for more details on Milwaukee Comedy Festival’s lineup as the event draws closer. In the meantime, you can support The Laughing Tap and Milwaukee Comedy by purchasing advance tickets to future shows.
