Winter in Milwaukee can be a long, slushy slog, filled with interminable grey days and bitterly cold nights. But Milwaukeeans are a hardy bunch, and wintertime events like Riverwest FemFest and Burnhearts’ Mitten Fest have popped up in recent years to give us reasons to soldier through the endless months leading up to spring. Add to that abbreviated list WMSE’s Rock-N-Roll Bowl, a pin-shaking, shoe-renting bowling tournament that will take over Bay View Bowl for the second year on Sunday, March 20, the first day of spring. Mark it, dudes.

Rock-N-Roll Bowl II will feature two sessions of 12 teams of four bowlers rolling three games. WMSE DJs Erin Wolf, Faux Eyes, and Marty will be on hand for all your musical needs (we’ll eat our ball towels if “Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In)” doesn’t get a spin), and prizes will be given out for team high score, individual high score, team low score, and individual low score. The first session of rock throwing begins at 12:30 p.m., and the second at 2:30 p.m.

A team sign-up sheet can be found here. The fee for a four-person team is $160 (a lousy $40 per person). All proceeds will go to support WMSE.
