Back in 2015, a group of likeminded Midwest musicians embarked on an ambitious multi-media project dubbed “UNINTIMIDATED: Wisconsin Musicians Against Scott Walker.” Organized by IfIHadAHiFi and Body Futures drummer (and occasional Milwaukee Record contributor) DJ Hostettler, the project resulted in a 16-track comp featuring songs from Haunted Heads, Volunteer, Holy Shit!, Heavy Hand, Testa Rosa, Hostettler’s bands, and many more. To date, there’s no word on which song Gov. Walker dug the most.

Now, in the wake of another contentious election, Hostettler and company have released a new project: “UNPRESIDENTED: DIY vs. Donald Trump.” In a press release, Hostettler explains:

“For UNINTIMIDATED, 13 bands recorded over a weekend at Howl Street Recordings in Milwaukee, WI in two-hour chunks. This time, that number was bumped up to 16, and an additional 11 bands submitted their own tracks, bringing the total to a hefty 27 bands from Milwaukee, Chicago, and elsewhere in the Midwest, contributing songs about how they don’t like the current president very much and wish he would go pound sand.”

Artists this time around include Ahab’s Ghost, Something To Do, The Glacial Speed, Paper Holland, The Cell Phones, Brett Newski, Mark Waldoch, and more. UNPRESIDENTED can be streamed below, and/or downloaded in full for $10. Once again, all proceeds go towards Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin and Milwaukee-area soup kitchens.
